Non Edible High Performance Jatropha Seeds
As part of the High Performance breeding programme, this seed produces a 4 – 6 times higher yield compared to wild Jatropha crops.
In contrast to Edible High Performance Jatropha, the Non-Edible version is also available without being included in the franchise programme.
This makes this seed suitable for government reclamation programmes, for example, in which a large number of plantation operators are involved.
Non-Edible High Performance Jatropha thrives on degraded soils.
By using previously unproductive soils, the sequestration performance of corresponding plantations can be certified and thus traded as part of the value added.
Non-Edible High Performance Jatropha is thus (alongside Edible High Performance Jatropha) the basis for the only form of CO2 removal from the atmosphere that is currently profitable.
Non-Edible High Performance Jatropha – F1 Hybrids
The F1 hybrid seeds are the product of a crosses between two elite parent inbreds. JATROPOWER’s F1 hybrid seeds show high hybrid vigour in terms of robustness in growth and seed yield as can be seen from the graph below (with JPH1 as example).
Presently JATROPOWER can supply two F1 hybrid seeds of Jatropha curcas.
JPH1
JPH1 is the first ever commercially marketed F1 hybrid seed of Jatropha curcas.

PH2 is the second F1 Hybrid jatropha seeds in Jatropower’s portfolio. Its production has been achieved in scalable hybrid production farm, where emasculation of the male plants is not required.

JP1010 is Jatropower’s workhorse jatropha cultivar. It is the most sold commercial jatropha cultivar till date with proven performance under a variety of crop conditions.
