Achieving global Net Zero by 2050 will require more than reducing emissions. Even with rapid decarbonization, vast amounts of CO₂ will remain in the atmosphere — and must be removed to stabilize the climate. Yet today, most carbon-removal technologies are either too costly, energy-intensive, or impossible to scale.
At JATROPOWER, we believe that nature already provides the blueprint for scalable and affordable carbon removal. Our answer is Bio-CCS – biological carbon capture and storage through plants that lock atmospheric CO₂ in biomass and soil while restoring degraded ecosystems.
Over the past twenty years, our research team together with the world’s leading scientists has developed a next-generation Jatropha curcas that redefines what this plant can do:
it thrives on wasteland without competing with food crops or depleting water resources,
it delivers multiple revenue streams from bio-oil, edible protein, and certified CO₂ removal, and
it is the primary edible and high-yield Jatropha variety available on the market today, protected by strong intellectual property.
Our mission as a Swiss aggrotech platform is to empower plantation operators and partners worldwide to use this innovation to transform millions of hectares of idle or degraded land into productive, climate-positive ecosystems. By doing so, we can sequester carbon at scale, generate sustainable livelihoods for local communities in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and close the gap between ambition and action on the road to Net Zero.
